Sand- and Clay-Photocured-Geomembrane Interface Shear Characteristics Using Direct Shear Test

چکیده
It is well known that geomembranes frequently and easily fail at the seams, which has been a ubiquitous problem in various applications. To avoid failure of geomembrane photocuring was carried out with 1~5% photoinitiator 2% carbon black powder. This can be sprayed cured on soil surface. The obtained then used as barrier, separator, or reinforcement. In this study, direct shear tests were aim to investigate interfacial characteristics photocured geomembrane–clay/sand. results show significant effect impermeable layer for geomembrane–clay interface. As geomembrane–sand interface, it reasonable choose made from 4% boundary drainage landfill. cover system, 5% geomembrane. Moreover, interface between photocurable clay/sand, friction coefficient increases initially decreases afterward increase normal stress. Furthermore, angle sand larger than other words, better tensile crack resistance.

Effect of Moisture Content on Shear Strength of Offshore Clay Interface Steel Surface
This paper investigates the effect of moisture content on interface shear strength between offshore clay and steel plate. Although, sensitive and high plasticity offshore clay deposits are widely distributed in Malaysia and many other countries in the world, and steel is a vital construction material for many structures, research works on interaction between offshore clay and steel surface are ...
متن کاملInfluences of Surface Characteristics and Modified Asphalt Binders on Interface Shear Strength
Weak bonding between layers of pavement leads to damages on the composite pavement. Bonding plays an important role in the durability and maintenance of composite pavement layers. The present study evaluates the factors effective in bond strength of the interface between concrete and asphalt pavements. The factors considered for this purpose include steel slag percentage in the concrete pavemen...
متن کاملInterface shear and pressure characteristics of wheelchair seat cushions.
Pressure ulcer incidence rates have remained constant despite advances in support surface technology. Interface shear stress is recognized as a risk factor for pressure ulcer development and is the focus of many shear reduction technologies incorporated into wheelchair cushions; however, shear reduction has not been quantified in the literature. We evaluated 21 commercial wheelchair seat cushio...
متن کاملInterface fluctuations under shear.
Coarsening systems under uniform shear display a long time regime characterized by the presence of highly stretched and thin domains. The question then arises whether thermal fluctuations may actually destroy this layered structure. To address this problem in the case of nonconserved dynamics, we study an anisotropic version of the Burgers equation, constructed to describe thermal fluctuations ...
متن کاملPermeability and Direct Shear Tests Characteristics of Railway Subballast
Permeability, filtration and shearing strength were widely considered to be the key properties in evaluating the performance of railway subballast. An investigation on these key properties of railway subballast was presented in this paper. A constant head permeability test and a middle scale direct shear test of railway subballast were conducted in the research, aiming to investigate the subbal...
